Drabble: Books hold no answers
Jan. 20th, 2014 11:30 pmIt's nice, warm and comfortable in Karin's library. But even if it's comfortable that's not the reason Eskil has spent hours in there, reading book after book on free will and on matters of love. He needs guidance, he needs answers! Philosophers such as Plato, Socrates, Hobbes has been devoured as well as poetry and romance novels. Sadly, there's no answers, in fact the more he reads the more questions arise. They can't help him, these wise people who's been published and talks about the eternal questions, not with this. He should have known, there's no reasoning with written words when the author isn't there, no chance to ask what they actually mean, it's all left to his interpretations. How is he supposed to know how to interpret words about freedom, words about love?
His eyes are sore and he's gained a rather annoying headache. "Det här duger inte," he mumbles to himself as he gets out of the chair and stretches. He needs air, he needs movement and he needs to think clearly. He needs a good long walk! He leaves the books behind, it's not like they can leave, and if he needs them, if he finds out a way to interpret their message, they'll be there, waiting for him.
